I like this movie scene, it inspires me how Luke keeps hope that there is still good in his father Darth Vader, or should I say Anakin?
“I’ll not leave you here. I’ve got to save you!”, Luke says after seeing his father unmasked and crumbled down by the wear and tear of the dark side. I love Luke’s reaction, his attitude and love for his father. Luke is staying stubbornly hopeful, positive and determined that his father can be saved. And he was right to do so! Luke for me in this scenario resembles ‘hope’. Hope doesn’t give up on someone, no matter how far they turned over to the dark side. Hope keeps seeking to save you, even when you’ve fallen the deepest fall and you went so far on a dark path that it seems to be beyond point of return. Hope is there to hold you in it’s arms, unmasked, as he sees you for who you are – where you’re withered, smeared and teared – and tells you you’re not alone and it’s not too late. I am here to save you. Like hands that reach out to you and pull you out of the darkness, to bring you to safety and a loving embrace. And so in a matter of dying moments relationship was restored and hope found his purpose in giving peace to a restless soul.
